D G Shipping allow to reopen MTI (Maritime Training Institute)

On 1^st October2020, D G Shipping issue new circular, (circular no. 28 of 2020) for reopen the MTI for pre-sea and STCW courses practical training with new rules and regulation.

POST SEA / MODULAR COURSES / STCW COURSES procedure:

·         According to Circular candidate need to complete E Learning first.

·         Then, need to attend online classes as per the previous guideline.

·         Then, after online classes candidate will get date for practical classes which candidate need to attend in MTI on given date.

·         MTI allow only 1/3rd candidate in one day for practical classes.

·         After practical classes candidate can attend the exit exam from MTI.

·         With these circular candidate will get certificate with 5 year validity.   

·         Only PST (personal survive technique), and EFA (Elementary first add) course certificates will remain with 18 months validity. Because swimming pool are still closed and MTI not allow conducting swimming pool practical. And hospital practical also not allowed for MTI. 

·         The candidate who has completed online Exit Exam for all STCW courses and have got digital certificates for 18 months. They can contact to MTI and complete the practical classes and will get 5 year valid digital certificates for the same Course.

·         Same digital certificate MTI will upload on master checker.            

  

PRE – SEA training (G P Rating/DNS/DNV)

Those candidates haven’t complete pre-sea training because of lockdown, please contact with your training institute. And complete your remaining courses. 

According to circular candidate needs to do COVID test before course also need 14 days of institutional quarantine.

During courses mask and social distancing in necessary all the time.   

Swimming Pool remain Closed

Government of India does not allow reopening the swimming pool. The courses like PST and PSCRB those required swimming pool. Will not provide any practical in this courses only theory will be done and candidate will get 18 months of valid certificates.

Once government gives the permission to open the swimming pool after completion of practical’s candidate will get certificates valid till 5 year.

Those courses which required to visit Hospital like EFA will not conduct any practical. For EFA MTI will provide only theory and candidate will get certificates valid for 18 months.

 After permission for hospital practical candidate can do practical of EFA and will get 5 years valid certificates.

Guideline for MTI:

·         MTI campus should be outside from containment zone. Person from containment zone is not allowed in the campus area.

·         MTI can schedule practical classes 12, hours a day in two shifts.  Including Saturday and Sunday without any holiday.

·         All equipment’s, and classrooms shall be sanitize in two shifts.

·         During a practical workshop equipment shall be sanitize time to time.

·         Washrooms also sanitize frequently.

·         During the practical candidate need to use boiler suit, breathing apparatus, immersion suit, and fire suits, etc. After using boiler suit by one candidate need to sanitize, wash, and dry then other candidate can use the same boiler suit.

·         Instructors need to use own vehicles for traveling, or can stay at campus.

·         If transportation facility provided by MTI, then MIT need to take care of social distancing and proper sanitized busses or vehicles.

·         All the faculties and staffs need to install Arogya Setu aap.

·         No outsiders permitted in the campus.
